Locavore Dinner 6:30
In the October 29th edition of the Wahkiakum County Eagle, there is a letter to the editor regarding a meeting of CAPR (Citizens' Alliance for Property Rights). The letter announced a meeting of this group on November 22 in the Grays River Grange Hall.
The State of Washington publishes a Voters Guide. We encourage citizens to use the information provided in the guide. However, local contests for public office are excluded. Local candidates were invited to provide information regarding the November election - the Grays River Grange did not edit the candidate statements below. The local, state and national Grange is a non-partisan organization that does not endorse candidates. The local voters information guide is the Grays River Grange working to fill its mission of community service within its traditional role as good-government advocate.

The forum is from 7 to 8:30pm in the Grange hall. There is a Locavore dinner at 6:00pm. All are welcome to the dinner and forum!

First Topic - Wahkiakum Health Clinic. Commissioner Lisa Marsyla will be speaking, as well as Todd Broderius; operations director of the local network of Family Health Clinics. Discussion regarding what services will be offered at the Wahkiakum Clinic. Questions from floor.
7:45 County Clerk Kay Holland will speak about her office and candidacy.
7:50 Second Topic Naselle / Grays River Valley School Board. Representatives of the school board will give a presentation. Interim District Superintendent Rick Pass will speak.Questions from floor.

Rosburg Resident Michelle Condon has announced a write in candidacy for the Naselle / Grays River Valley School District Board. Mrs. Condon is challenging Mike Queener, also of Rosburg. Mr. Queener formally filed and will appear on the School Board Position 2 ballot in November.
The Grange News was one of the prominent voices urging passage of Initiative No. 1 in 1930. Voters passed I-1 creating the means for Public Utility Districts in Washington. This cartoon appeared on the eve of the election. (Click for larger image.)
